I talked about these when they were first introduced, but I thought it’d be nice to have a consistent spot to link back to for future stuff.

Galactic Basic & Galactic Sign
People around the universe all seem to be able to understand each other, huh? This is because, for the most part, everyone is speaking Galactic Basic! Galactic Basic is, as its name implies, a language that takes cues from the most common languages around the galaxy to create a basic system of communication between anyone who might meet.

It also has a sign language variant, Galactic Sign. It’s less common, but still known by a lot of people!
Sign is notated via arrows pointing to hands rather than tails pointing to heads!

Some people don’t learn basic of either form and stick to their native language. There’s tech that lets these people understand others, and other people understand them in turn.
Other languages have their original script behind the translated lines!

For the most part, you can assume everyone in the galaxy communicates in one of these ways. If they don’t, we’ll cover that when we get to it!
