More language shenanigans! Celtic is using Galactic Sign Language, which is basically a sign language equivalent to Galactic Basic. Translations will be provided (when applicable) as if it were any other language, though the different text boxes (and them pointing to hands instead of the general direction of the face!) should hopefully help denote when it’s being used. I’ll also be trying to match up the sign language to actual sign language, namely ASL, because… well, it felt too important not to.
Celtic: Jasmine, we were already having trouble fighting Vela three on one. I’ll fall back; you keep them busy until we’re ready to go.
[nod nod]
Jasmine: You sure, Celtic?
Celtic: Yep.
Jasmine: Go ahead, then.
Vela: Wh- Hey!
But a fake arm looks like it can be a fast arm!
This may be an odd stance to take, but I think planets shouldn’t be allowed to do space travel until their population is properly looked after. Accommodating for everyone’s needs, giving disabled people the tools to stand on equal footing- pun fully intended- with non-disabled people, or whatever that may look like for a particular planet… If going to space means leaving those less fortunate than you behind, you shouldn’t be allowed to do it.
… needless to say, we’re gonna be encountering a fair amount of people in this comic with some kind of disability.
