Welcome to this chapter’s Grapevine! I didn’t have questions this time around, so I decided to do something a bit different here.

The Author On: Character Interpretations
Given the introduction of Alex in the story, I felt this was a (one-sided) discussion I wanted to have sooner rather than later. Here’s my take- and if it changes, you’ll be the first ones to know! I wanted to make my position absolutely clear on the matter of different interpretations of the characters that I write.

See, I understand that people will see a character’s actions and decide they’re some form of LGBT+. Which I think is awesome! Consider this Grapevine my formal letter of permission to interpret my characters as whatever you’d like to. I simply ask that you do these three things in exchange:
1) Not all of the characters in this comic are mine. For them, verify with their creators that it’s okay first.
2) If a character is revealed in story to be LGBT+, I ask that you respect that! For example, don’t take someone who’s Bi/Pan and make them Gay/Straight.
3) Respect other peoples’ interpretations as well! They’re all valid, as far as I’m concerned.
